The biological treatment plant is a sewage treatment system, which cleans the waste water generated in the home of an up to 10-member family in an environment-friendly and efficient manner. The biological treatment plant functions on the basis of the waste water aeration principle. Waste water aeration, i.e. enriching of waste water with air, is necessary to ensure that the bacteria living in the biological treatment plant remain viable and efficiently decompose waste water into mud.
The advantage of the biological treatment plant manufactured by Klaasplast OÜ over its competitors is the fact that the BioC6 biological treatment plant is horizontal. The advantage of a horizontal treatment plant lies in its installation depth. The pit required for the biological treatment plant must be only 1300 mm deeper than the waste water pipe entering the treatment plant.
The design of a horizontal biological treatment plant enables to significantly increase the volume of the treatment chamber of the treatment plant. Larger chamber volume means a larger area for storing the mud processed by the bacteria, which in turn significantly prolongs the cleaning interval of the biological treatment plant. Taking into account that the service of a sewage truck costs approximately 50 euros per turn, the saving over a longer period is considerable. Test results have shown that a BioC 6 treatment plant with a higher chamber volume functions effectively in case of a residence of 2–3 people as well as in case of a household of 10 people.
The biological treatment plant must be cleaned at least once a year. It must also be made sure that 1/3 of the mud is left in the middle chamber when cleaning the biological treatment plant. The mud is left in the biological treatment plant to ensure the preservation of the bacteria. After cleaning, the treatment plant must be filled with clean water to avoid any blockages in the ducts and pipes in the biological treatment plant.

How to install the biological treatment plant?
Since biological treatment plants collect solid particles from waste water, it is most reasonable to install them underground. The biological treatment plant is usually installed at the same depth with the sewage duct exiting the building. Which connections does the biological treatment plant require?
To make cleaning all sections of the biological treatment plant as convenient as possible, there are 400 mm and 800 mm openings on the ceiling of the treatment plant.
