What is a class I oil separator and where is it used?
Class I oil separators are mainly used in car parks, on roadways, in industrial enterprises, petrol stations, carwashes, repair shops, storage yards and many other places. These oil separators are designed to channel rainwater and industrial wastewater into the sewage or nature.
According to the European standard EN 858, class I oil separators must ensure that the concentration of hydrocarbons in wastewater is below 5 mg/l. Class I oil separators are equipped with coalisators which support the fusion of oil particles – this accelerates the removal of these particles from water. The European standard EN 858 has also established that the purification of wastewater that is mixed with oil must begin with settling the heavier particles in the sand-mud trap installed in front of the oil separator or built into its housing.
Oil separators are equipped with a control mechanism which will signal visually and audibly when the layer of petroleum products inside the trap reaches the maximum permitted level.
What are the dimensions?
The possible diameters are: 1200 mm; 1600 mm; 2100 mm and 2400 mm.
