In grease traps, fats and vegetable oils are separated from the wastewater to prevent blockages and to ensure the smooth operation of the sewer.
The working principle of the grease trap is that due to the delay time and specific weights, the fat and oil particles rise to the surface of the trap and the clean water is directed into the sewer from the lower part of the trap. This ensures that the fat content of the wastewater is less than 25 mg / l in accordance with the standards EVS-EN 1825-1:2004.

The grease traps have built-in sand/sludge separation chambers that collect the sediment of the wastewater and they are equipped with a grease layer level alarm device, which gives on time alarms, when the trap needs to be emptied.
